The Optomech Quick Measuring Machine measures hundreds of dimensions on every part, in under 3 seconds, automatically. A 20 MP CMOS sensor and double telecentric lens capture the complete part profile in one shot. Auto-align, auto-measure, auto-report. No operator. No subjectivity. No escapes.
The QMM is designed so that production operators can run 100% inspection without metrology training. Two steps — create a template once, then measure every part forever.
Place a good reference part on the measurement surface. Draw a selection box around the part edge in the software. The system automatically detects the full contour.
Set nominal dimensions and tolerances for every feature you want to monitor. Name and save the programme. Done — it goes into the SQL database and never needs to be created again.
Select the part programme by part number. Place any part on the measurement surface — within ±1 mm of position. Press Start.
The system auto-aligns to the part, measures every programmed dimension simultaneously, compares to tolerance, and generates a pass/fail report. All saved to the SQL database. Cycle complete in under 3 seconds.
Choose the measurement orientation that matches your part. All series share the same 20 MP sensor, double telecentric lens, and software platform.
High pixel count captures the full part profile in a single exposure with sufficient resolution to resolve fine edges and sub-millimetre features. No stitching. No multi-image acquisition. One shot — all dimensions.
Telecentricity on both the object side and the image side ensures constant magnification across the entire field of view, regardless of part height variation. Eliminates parallax-induced measurement error — the primary source of inaccuracy in non-telecentric machine vision systems used for measurement.
Blue wavelength (450–490 nm) maximises edge contrast by avoiding the broader spectral response of white light. Combined with telecentric illumination, it creates a sharp, consistent silhouette edge at every point in the field — enabling reliable edge detection even on challenging surface finishes and colours.
When the part is placed on the measurement surface, the software automatically locates datum features and aligns the measurement coordinate system — within ±1 mm positioning tolerance. The operator does not need to precisely locate or fixture the part. Parts can be placed by hand, by conveyor, or by robot arm.
All measurement results are stored in a central SQL database. Part templates, measurement data, pass/fail history, and SPC trends are accessible from any networked workstation. Supports up to 50 QMM machines on a single LAN with a shared database of over 5,000 part templates.
Digital I/O for integration with robotic arms, conveyors, and automated assembly lines. The machine receives a trigger signal to start measurement and outputs a digital pass/fail signal to downstream sorting or rejection. Enables fully automated 100% in-line inspection without operator intervention.
SQL database stores all part programmes. Recall any part by part number in seconds. No searching for files.
Real-time Cp/Cpk per dimension, trend charts, process drift alarms before tolerance is exceeded.
PDF, Excel, CPK reports generated automatically after each measurement. Timestamped and stored to database.
Up to 50 QMMs on a single LAN sharing one central SQL database. Quality managers access all data from any PC.
| Industry / Application | What the QMM Measures |
|---|---|
| Automotive Stamping | Blank dimensions, punched hole positions, formed radii, flange widths, notch geometry — 100% of every press stroke |
| Fastener Manufacturing | Head diameter, bearing surface, shank OD, thread run-out, under-head radius — every fastener before packaging |
| Automotive Forgings | Forged blank profile, flash dimensions, fibre flow length, forging die wear indicators |
| Plastic Injection Moulding | Gate vestige height, parting line flash, boss diameter, snap-fit geometry — mould health monitoring via SPC |
| Gears & Sintered Parts | Root circle, tip circle, tooth width, overall height — production-rate inspection on sintered and formed gears |
| Sheet Metal Fabrication | Blanked profile, bend radius, flange angle, hole position — 100% of formed and blanked sheet metal parts |
| Medical Device Components | Critical profile dimensions on implants, surgical instrument bodies — 100% inspection with full traceability per serial number |
| Electronics & Connectors | Connector pin length, housing width, tab geometry, terminal position — high-volume 100% verification |
Our engineers bring sample parts to your facility, run demonstration measurements, and confirm the QMM will meet your tolerance requirements before you invest. We don't sell instruments — we solve inspection problems.
Optomech averages 6 working days from delivery to production-ready operation. This includes installation, template creation for your first 10 part numbers, operator training, and first inspection run validation.
Manufactured at our Hyderabad facility. Spares stocked locally. Service engineers available within 24 hours. No waiting on international service contracts or imported spare parts.
Start with one QMM. Add machines as your volume grows — all feeding the same central database. When you have 20 machines, your quality manager sees everything from one screen.
Digital I/O for immediate sorting integration. SQL database connects to your MES or ERP for closed-loop quality management. No manual data entry. No paper reports.
Every QMM is supplied with a NABL-traceable calibration certificate. Periodic recalibration available from our service team — keeping your measurement system qualification current for QMS audits.
Bring a sample batch of your production parts. Our engineers will demonstrate the QMM measuring your actual parts and confirm the accuracy against your tolerances.
