BIS — Bottle Inspection
Bottle Inspection Systems
Surface, thread, base, and neck inspection for plastic and glass bottles at 200–400+ CPM.
Explore Bottle Inspection →Zero defects shipped. At full production speed.
Optomech designs and builds machine vision inspection systems for bottles, caps, labels, induction seals, and specialised packaging — 100% automated, non-contact, at full line speed. Engineered in Hyderabad, India since 1981.
Manual visual inspection misses up to 20% of defects at production speed. Sampling programs check a fraction of a percent of output. At 300+ containers per minute, neither approach is a reliable quality system — it's a calculated gamble.
A single compromised seal, a mislabelled bottle, a defective cap. Each is invisible to manual inspection at line speed — and each carries the potential for product recall, regulatory action, and brand damage that far exceeds the cost of any automated system.
Inspection Systems
Bottles, caps, labels, induction seals — plus FOSIS, CANIS, and PBIS for pharmaceutical specialised packaging — each with a dedicated inspection system, engineered for its specific defect profile and line speed.

CANIS — Canister Inspection
100% inspection of silica desiccant canisters at 14,000/hr. Detects mesh breakage — prevents silica bead contamination.

PBIS — Polybag Inspection
AI-powered 9-camera polybag inspection at 3,000 bags/hr. Detects holes, seal spread, particles, cuts. 21 CFR Part 11.
Explore PBIS →Most production lines still rely on periodic sampling and manual visual checks — approaches designed for lower speeds and simpler defect profiles. At modern line speeds, only 100% automated inline inspection can provide the certainty that every unit leaving your facility meets quality standards.
Optomech systems are engineered to eliminate the trade-off between catching defects and keeping production moving — with hybrid AI, deterministic PLC integration, and over 45 years of in-house engineering behind every system.
Rule-based detection for known defect types combined with deep learning anomaly models for novel defects. Trained on real production images — not lab samples.
Documented signal maps for triggers, ejection, interlocks and line stop. Compatible with Beckhoff, Siemens, and all major platforms. No line redesign required.
All camera, lighting, and algorithm parameters stored per SKU. Switch products in minutes with recipe recall — no re-teaching, no downtime.
Every inspected unit logged with defect image, timestamp, and operator trail. Exportable reports for quality audits, customer complaints, and regulatory review.
Optical design, mechanical fabrication, software, and commissioning — all done by Optomech's own team in Hyderabad. Local support. Faster deployment.
21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 compliant software with audit trails, electronic signatures, and 3-level access control for regulated manufacturing environments.
How Optomech Inspection Works
Every Optomech inspection system is built on the same core technology stack — machine vision, AI, and thermal imaging — combined and configured differently for each packaging application.
Machine Vision
Multi-camera architectures with precision strobe-synchronised lighting, configured for each container geometry. Camera positions, lenses, and illumination wavelengths are all selected for the specific inspection task — not a generic setup applied to every line.
Artificial Intelligence & Deep Learning
A practical hybrid approach: deterministic rule-based algorithms handle known defect types at speed, while deep learning anomaly models catch novel defects that rules miss. The result is fewer false rejects and fewer escapes — simultaneously, not as a compromise.
Infrared Thermal Imaging
High-sensitivity infrared cameras capture the thermal signature of every induction seal immediately after the sealing station. Under-sealing, missing liner, and partial bonding — all invisible to visible-light cameras — are detected non-destructively, inline, at full production speed.
Founded in 1981, Optomech Engineers has over 45 years of experience designing and manufacturing automated machine vision inspection systems entirely in-house in Hyderabad. Learn more about our heritage and in-house engineering philosophy.

Industries Served
Optomech vision inspection systems are deployed wherever 100% product quality is non-negotiable — from pharmaceutical injectables to FMCG beverage lines.
Tablet bottles, injectables, vials, sachet lines. GMP-compliant inspection with 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex 11 compliance.
High-speed PET and glass bottle inspection, closure and label verification for still water, carbonated drinks, and juices.
Complete packaging line inspection for sauces, oils, condiments, and packaged foods — bottle, cap, label, and seal verification.
Supplement bottles, powders, capsules. Induction seal integrity is critical — ISIVS provides 100% verification at full line speed.
Pesticide and herbicide bottles, cap verification, and label inspection — critical for regulatory compliance and product safety.
Shampoo, lotion, and cosmetic packaging — surface inspection, label accuracy, and closure integrity on high-mix lines.
Optomech vision systems run on production lines at some of the world's most recognised brands. Written customer approval required before logo display — logos to be added on launch.
Case Studies
Results from deployed Optomech vision systems across industries.
Bottle Inspection · FMCG
A leading FMCG manufacturer needed to eliminate cross-contamination and label mix-ups across 40+ SKUs running on shared lines. The BIS XL was deployed with recipe-based changeovers and artwork verification.
Cap Inspection · Pharmaceuticals
A pharmaceutical closure manufacturer required zero tolerance for defective wads and tamper band failures. CIS Online with Liner was configured for their specific cap geometry with hybrid AI detection.
Induction Seal Verification · Nutraceuticals
A nutraceutical company faced recurring field complaints about compromised seals that appeared intact visually. ISIVS was deployed post-sealing station for 100% non-destructive thermal verification.
Service & Support
Full lifecycle support from installation and commissioning through operator training, IQ/OQ/PQ validation for pharma, annual maintenance contracts (AMC) with remote diagnostics, and ongoing software updates — all provided by the same engineering team that built your system.
