Common capabilities across all seven systems

Whichever system you select, these capabilities are standard — so your operators, IT team, and quality managers work with the same architecture across your full inspection programme.

📸

Multi-Camera Architecture

Configurable camera count and positions — top, bottom, side, oblique — tuned to your container geometry. No standard compromises.

💡

Precision Lighting Control

Strobe-synchronised, wavelength-selectable illumination for reliable detection on transparent, glossy, reflective, and multi-coloured surfaces.

🧠

Hybrid AI Algorithms

Rule-based detection for known defect types combined with deep learning anomaly models for novel or evolving defects — without manual re-training cycles.

🔗

PLC / SCADA Integration

Hardwired PLC I/O with documented signal maps for triggers, markers, and ejectors. SCADA and MES data feeds via OPC-UA or standard industrial protocols.

🗂️

Product Recipe Management

Named recipes store all camera, lighting, and algorithm parameters per SKU. Instant switchover, full version history, and role-based recipe control.

🔒

GMP-Ready Software

21 CFR Part 11 & EU Annex 11 compliant. Audit trails, electronic signatures, 3-level access control, and user management for regulated environments.

♻️

Automatic Ejection & Verification

Pneumatic ejection with rejection verification sensor confirms every defective unit is removed. No manual sorting required after inspection.

📈

Real-Time Dashboard & Reporting

System selection questions answered

Common questions from quality managers, line engineers, and procurement teams at the point of evaluating and selecting the right inspection system.

How do I choose between BIS, CIS, LIS, and ISIVS?

Each system inspects a different packaging component. BIS is for bottles, CIS is for caps and closures, LIS is for labels, and ISIVS is for induction-sealed container integrity. Most production lines deploy two or more systems together for complete end-to-end inspection. If you need to inspect a non-standard format (polybags, canisters, vials), the Specialised range covers those applications.

Can I run multiple inspection systems on the same line?

Yes — and most customers do. All five Optomech systems share a common platform architecture, so they can operate on the same conveyor with a unified data feed to your PLC and SCADA. A common recipe management interface means all systems are switched together on a single product changeover.

Can the systems integrate with my existing production line PLC?

All Optomech systems provide deterministic PLC integration — including Beckhoff, Siemens, and other major platforms — with documented signal maps for triggers, rejection markers, interlocks, and line stop signals. Integration does not require a line redesign.

How does the Induction Sealing Verification System (ISIVS) differ from a standard cap inspection?

ISIVS uses infrared thermal imaging — not machine vision — to detect seal quality defects (under-sealing, missing liner, partial bonding) that are invisible to visible-light cameras. It is deployed immediately after the induction sealing station and can be combined with CIS (cap inspection) on the same machine for complete closure verification.

What is a Specialised Inspection System and when do I need one?

When your packaging format doesn't match the standard bottle, cap, or label product range — such as polybags, canisters, pharmaceutical flip-off vials, or bespoke custom shapes — Optomech builds purpose-engineered systems (PBIS, CANIS, FOSIS) or fully bespoke machines. Contact us with your packaging format, line speed, and defect requirements.

What are the available model variants for each inspection system?

Each product category has multiple variants: BIS (Standard, XL, EDB); CIS (Online, Online with Liner, XL, Custom Cap); LIS (standard, 2S dual-station, IML); ISIVS (standard, Lite, combined ISIVS+CIS). Full specifications, defect coverage tables, and model comparisons are on each individual product page.

Tell us your container. We'll recommend the right system.

Share your packaging format, line speed, and the defect types you need to catch. Our vision engineering team will propose the right system — with camera count, lighting approach, and PLC architecture — within days, not weeks.
